The music ministry at Immanuel exists to facilitate the worship and glorification of God. With our Worship Choir and Praise Band leading the way we strive to make music which speaks the truths of God and His Word which allows all to engage in singing His glorious praises. We believe that God simply desires our true worship and has no preference of musical style. Following this thought, we seek to find and use the best music available to us from all the ages of the church because God deserves and commands nothing less than our best.
The Worship Choir at Immanuel is one of the main musical leadership groups. We are involved in leading the worship service each Sunday morning and have rehearsals each Wednesday evening from 7:30-8:30. The choir is a volunteer group with people of various skill and ability. We have recently presented the pieces Thou Oh Lord, by Lisa Ireland, and The Saving One, arranged by Phil Nitz as well as many others of various style. Each Christmas and Easter the choir presents a larger scale work which is often done with staging and acting. If you love choral music, then we welcome you to join us in worshiping God together in the choir.
Each Sunday morning the Praise Band takes part in leading the worship service. We have rehearsal from 8:30-9:30 Sunday mornings before Sunday School. This group is made up of a range of individuals from many walks of life. From students, members of other bands, and professional musicians we come together with the goal of working together to worship God in spirit and truth. The music played by the band ranges from popular hymns to brand new praise songs. The vision of this ministry is to constantly be seeking to use what will best glorify God and help the congregation to worship Him.
